Step 204: Funniness does not also imply meanness
adulting:
I just finished a really, really funny dating memoir, one that made me laugh out loud several times. But at the end, I didn’t feel good at having laughed at all these people, and I didn’t walk away with something useful for myself. Anyway, a more-personal than normal entry after the jump.

import reference image? nope, import a texture and then you have to delete it so you can work with the zsphere, but you only have the reference so you can model the zsphere in the first place

Modeling my own characters in zbrush would wig me out a little. If you’ve got decent turnarounds, submit ‘em and maybe I’ll churn you out a zbrush. No promises on quality, I’m a nub. Also, if it’s any good, you gotta let me use it in my portfolio. I will not claim rights to the concept.

“… Dad.” Bob’s voice trickled in under the doors to Steven’s office, barely audible under the tinny pluck-pluck-bwang of the older man’s banjo. No response. Bob cramped his shoulders forward and tossed his head. “DAD.” He rest his body against the door and lazily flopped his fist over his head, pounding half-heartedly. “DAD.” A tonal seesaw of pings...

Mitzy rolled her eyes. “Get off it, Steven. You’re single now. Fucking single.” She gestured out into the crowd of tipsy women. “And for tonight, you can pretend they’re all single, too. I know you want to.” She leaned in, tapping the side of her head. “I know...

ATTN: philosophy nerds
If physicalism’s view of the human can be described as “a physical object”, and a person is “a physical object capable of carrying out a unique and impressive set of functions (P)”, does status as a “person”, per physicalism, exclude individuals who lack a full set of P functions?
P functions are things like planning, thinking, dreaming, having...

now I am a real artist, part four thousand
I realize that I’ve now moved from the point where there are days where I don’t draw, to the point that there aren’t. There are some people I know who have always drawn every day, but since I’m so slow and perfectionistic, this hasn’t generally been the case with me. I’ve always been more the “spend 20 hour blocks drawing, then another 20 hour block, then...
